1: Remove piston. Check for wear on the teeth and the O-ring. Check that the bore of the piston is shiny. Replace parts as necessary. Note: there is a lot of commonality, and parts fit other brands.
3: The anti-reversal latch is the bane of the job. You will probably spend longer fiddling with this part, than the entire job takes.
4: Place all the gears in the bushes. Fit all the bushes to the upper side of the gears (not shown). Fit the spring, piston and ensure the piston gear is NOT engaged with the piston teeth - as shown.
5: Use a small screwdriver through the cutout in the body to hold the anti-reversal latch in place
6: Replace the gearbox cover, ensuring all the bushes are in position. These can be adjusted if they won`t quite go, using a small screwdriver. DO NOT let got of the anti-reversal latch until everything is fitted back.
7: Fit the gearbox back into the body
8: Remember to refit the BB feed
9: Refit the locating pin
10:Feed the wires back into the grip - RED at the front. Then refit the two cross-head screws.
11: Refit the motor, with BOTH wires at the rear of the motor - there is a trough for them in the grip. Refit the wires and shim
12: Refit the motor-plate ensuring that the shim does not slip out of position.
Testing
Connect the battery and test that the gun works before completely re-assembling.
If nothing happens, check the battery and electrical side.
If you hear a strained sound, remove the motor-plate, check and re-fit.
If you hear a grinding sound, remove the motor and refit. If you still hear a grinding sound re-strip and check all gearbox
Once you have tested the gearbox, simply reassemble in the opposite manner to how you dismantled it. Have fun!!
Now you have removed the cover of your gearbox, it`s time to inspect it for wear or damage. Replace anything that is broken or worn. Your gearbox should look like the picture (right)
2: REDUCING THE POWER (FPS)
Using a Dremel or similar cutting tool, trim a bit off of the rear end of the main spring.
The amount you trim off depends on the original FPS of your gun, and the desired FPS.
If your gun is at 400 FPS and you want 340 FPS, trim 1/2” (13mm) off and re-crono the gun.
Warning: This is NOT an exact science

The V7 box fitted to the M14 is considerably different, and I`ll do a strip build next time I have mine in bits
